When I Knew Review
Average Reviews:
(More customer reviews)The documentary "When I Knew" is a collection of aptly edited stories about when people found out they were gay. Unfortunately, it's only 30 minutes or so long and could have benefited from more exploration into individual stories (this is available in the special features section of the DVD, but sadly the stories there are really not terribly interesting). However, the documentary makers do wonderful things with the short time they have, showing both the variety and similarity the gay community shares. This is a movie, very well produced and involving the interviews of quite a multitude of gay people, that will resonate with any gay person and will communicate a lot about the process of coming out to any straight person. Something important to have around.
