a great movie, that encompasses everything a surfer wants to see on the screen. Barrels, colorful waves, soulful surfers, insane performances, exotic destinations, it has it all !!! This movie is truly one of my all time favorite. Shots of gnarly tasmanian rights, the ever-psyched rides of Rasta, stylish turns and cutbacks from the all powerful Andy Iron, and the of course the many many beautiful sceneries of Australia, Hawaii, and and... This movie will get you more hyped than you would ever get from any wave down your local break ! A Defenitly-absolutly-you'd'better- must have!!!

Improper Conduct (1994) Review

Improper Conduct (1994)

I love this film for one long legged blonde reason called Kathy Shower, who unfortunately, is almost wasted in this film. However if your'e going to watch this film there is no better reason than to watch it for Kathy. It was almost a vehicle for Kathy but it's as if it drove off without her leaving Kathy standing around 'reacting' instead of acting. There is one hot scene with hubby badboy whom the film title is named after (improper conduct-er) but it's not long enough a scene and the chemistry that is clearly visable between the two actors is not utilised to it's full capacity. Damn and blast! The rest of the film is actually quite good (even for a streight to video/cable tv job thingy) and concerns an advertising executives roaming eye which eventually gets him into big trouble when his former mistress commits suicide and her vengeful sister (blaming him for the act) worms her way seductively into his life in order to destroy it from within. Yeah! ...! As you have probably gathered however, I am a Kathy Shower fan first and foremost and enjoyed this film more for Kathy's appearance so much so that I have two copies of the film. If you like this film, you'll love 'Erotic Bounderies', (this is not an ad) also starring Kathy Shower. I saw this film about a year ago and have since tried to purchase it but to no avail.

Surfing Hollow Days (1961) Review

Surfing Hollow Days (1961)
Average Reviews:

While not as fun as Surf Crazy or either of the Endless Summers, Surfing Hollow Days is still entertaining to those surfing enthusiasts who love Bruce Brown flicks. Surfing Hollow Days takes the viewer on an around-the-world surfing adventure with some of surfing's most legendary riders when they were young men, including August and Yater themselves. The background music isn't much to brag about, and Brown's commentary (usually sharp witted and colorful) seems to fall a little flatter than usual. From California to Australia, during the birth of the foam boards, but still before the oh-so-important leash, we follow several groups of young men surfing their hearts out; including a 12 year old boy surfing Waimea Bay, and the Pipeline's virgin run by the courageous Phil Edwards. And when they can't find a wave it seems as if surfing behind a boat will do. Brown still throws in several gimmicks for comic relief, but for some reason, Surfing Hollow Days just doesn't have the mass appeal as his other works. But, if you love to watch vintage surfing footage, and love anything Bruce Brown, Surfing Hollow Days is still fun to watch - but only recommended for the most die-hard of fans.

Second Thoughts Review

This movie is completely epic. It's about three friends who get dropped off on an uninhabited island in Indonesia for a month, with reef breaks firing all around them. Lots of cool barrel shots and other footage. Anybody who gives this review less than five stars is definitely a kook. This video is a must. I own over twenty surf vids and this is definitely my favorite. There's only two turns in this movie and then the rest is barrel riding. However, the waves, different angles, and the way they set up the camera to capture film inside the barrel is incredible.
