Harlots of the Caribbean Review

Harlots of the Caribbean
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Harlots is a typical entry in the Bikini series of soft-core adult flicks; you might have seen it already as Bikini Pirates. (Tricky how they retitle things to get you to buy them twice.) There's no graphic sex here, i.e., no genital close-ups, although it's probably not a film you want to watch with your kid or parents. Plenty of simulated (or maybe not) action, both m/f and f/f, with a little bit of goofy bondage and S&M thrown in for laughs.
The cast includes most Bikini regulars, including Nicole Sheridan and Evan Stone, both playing their typical campy roles: Sheridan is especially cute as the girlfriend of a scuba diver who discovers a lady pirate's journal while diving on a wreck; Stone is the ghostly boyfriend/sidekick of said lady pirate. Both of them return from the watery other side to reclaim the journal, which includes a map leading to treasure they buried two or three hundred years ago. Lunacy and sex ensues.
If you're into hard-core, pass this one by. But if you want a few laughs, good-natured sex, Nicole Sheridan (I love her -- she boosts this three-star pic to four) and company, it's worth a look.

Fast Lane to Malibu/Fast Lane to Vegas (Unrated) Review

Fast Lane to Malibu/Fast Lane to Vegas (Unrated)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Here are the plots for the two movies:
Fast Lane to Malibu. Brian has a fight with his girlfriend Monica (Renee Rea). Thinking she's through with him, he agrees to go to Malibu with his friend Zach. There's a sorority party there that's supposed to be a guaranteed weekend of eager, horny women. Monica finds out and convinces her friend Ashley (Tracy Ryan) to help her chase him down so she can tell him she still loves him.
Fast Lane to Vegas. Zach and Brian are headed to Las Vegas for Brian's wedding to Monica. Along the way they encounter many opportunities to have sex with beautiful women. In Las Vegas, Monica and Ashley have a couple of opportunities for their own bit of fun with a hotel employee and a male stripper.
That alone probably would have been good enough to make these above average softcore films, but the producers have also thrown in another little bit of fun. Throughout the films, there are several places where the characters are faced with a decision. The viewer gets to decide what they do. It's a good use of DVD technology and keeps things interesting.
The stories provide plenty of opportunity for numerous sex scenes and ample amounts of female skin.
In Malibu, there's a sexy hitchhiker (Stephanie Schwartz), the mechanic's horny wife (Susan Featherly), and two hot female cops (Kira Reed and Nikki Fritz). There are nine sex scenes. Five are boy/girl, one is boy/girl/boy/girl, two are girl/girl, and one is girl solo. In addition, there is a nice shower scene with Renee and a wet t-shirt contest that Renee and Tracy participate in. All the women are super hot and give great performances. The music is a little too loud, but you can still hear the sounds of the actors during the sex scenes.
In Vegas, there are nine sex scenes. Five are boy/girl, two are boy/girl/girl, one is boy/girl/boy/girl, and one is girl solo. I thought all but one of the sex scenes were very good. The other one was just decent, mostly because the two girls were just phoning in their parts. The women include A list stars like Renee, Tracy, Mia Zottoli, Sasha Rochelle, and Flower Edwards. The rest of the women are plenty attractive, just not in the same league as those five. All the sex scenes play out to completion, and you can hear the sounds of the actors during the sex scenes over the music. The music isn't as loud as it was in Malibu.
These are two great movies at a bargain price. Very recommended.

All About Anna ( When Johan Came Knocking ) Review

All About Anna ( When Johan Came Knocking )
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This movie received a five-star, Editor's Choice review in the April, 2008 AVN, and it's easy to see why. An English language film shot in Denmark with a European cast, "All About Anna" is a one-of-a-kind co-production from Innocent Pictures and Zentropa Productions, best known in the United States for award-winning feature films like Lars von Trier's "Dancer in the Dark" and "Dogville" starring Nicole Kidman and James Caan.
A slice-of-life mainstream romantic comedy with explicit lovemaking scenes, "All About Anna" is erotica made by women, for women and about women. Despite its graphic sexual content, It's not a shadowy dark night of the soul, as earlier, similar efforts like "The Devil In The Flesh" and "The Brown Bunny" strained to portray. It's simply entertaining and gently arousing, and aimed squarely at ladies and couples. Successful or not (and this critic feels, by and large, that it's a success) "All About Anna" represents a new genre: a fusing of the Northern European ambiance and pretty photography of that 60s classic "Elvira Madigan" (which this film more than slightly resembles, despite a much more upbeat ending), with a distinct feminist sensibility and startling, you-are- there hardcore photography.
Danish director Jessica Nilsson (whose background includes both award-winning short films and cutting-edge music videos) brings a trendy indie sensibility to the film's visual style; the DIY-roots of Dogme95 and the association with Lars von Trier are combined to make "All About Anna" nothing so much as a lush tableaux of desire and abandon.
The deceptively simple story focuses on young Anna (portrayed with an abundance of grace and style by mainstream Danish TV and music star Gry Bay), a young theatrical costume designer, who's focused on her career to the point of shunning romantic entanglements. But her concentration is shattered by a brief encounter with her ex- boyfriend Johan. As she begins to question her choices in life and love, Anna's dilemma ironically stems from her very determination to be an independent, self-actualized woman. While yearning for romance, she fears the pain it may entail - but even more, She fears loneliness even more. In a world where "no pain, no gain" seems to take on new meanings all the time, Anna is forced to make a life-defining decision.
Loneliness is certainly one of the most universal subjects of European cinema, from Bergman's weighty meditations on faith to Truffaut's engaging slice-of-life comedies. Thankfully for everyone who dreads the pretentiousness that seems endemic to so much "serious" erotica, "All About Anna" cleaves to the latter camp.
The much-ballyhooed unsimulated sex scenes emerge as nothing so much as a natural part of the storyline. This simplicity of the explicit content is heightened by the fact that the crew and actors utilized here obviously had no experience in making "adult" films. Indeed, porn fans seeking gynecological close-ups and standard-issue "money shots" should look elsewhere, as this is one sex movie that refuses to indulge sex movie clichés. In many instances, the camera operator's choice to shoot much of the lovemaking as a series of full body shots seems to actually work against the conventions customary to adult - but they speak volumes in terms of exteriorizing the inner lives of central characters.
Beguiling Gry Bay (who, whether intentionally or not, is a dead ringer for the actress who played the titular character in "Elvira Madigan" nearly 40 years ago) is wholly believable both in and out of bed, by turns fetching, troubled, awkward, and sensitive (without ever being maudlin) in a performance that truly exists in a universe of its own, as if telegraphed from an alternate plane where "real movies" and "porn movies" are not mutually exclusive concepts. Eileen Daly happily lightens the mood in a winning supporting role, and French porn icon Ovidie is memorable in a lesbian liaison with Anna (although her Gothic, fetishistic look and personality would seem to suggest she'd be more at home in a Dario Argento erotic-horror opus than a quiet slice-of-life comedy like "All About Anna."
A final influence on "All About Anna" appears to be American cult director Monte Hellman, who while having worked under-the-radar in the U.S. for over four decades, has long been heralded as a genius of the "quiet film" in both France and Denmark (He even recently renamed his production company Quiet Films, in a warm nod to his Danish fans). As the director of "Two-Lane Blacktop," and executive producer of "Buffalo 66" and Quentin Tarantino's "Reservoir Dogs," Hellman has made a career out of crafting somber, slice-of-life dramas that focus on the individual's Search For Meaning.
Imagine Hellman being given a free hand to shoot his own explicit adult film, with a wry, literate script and more than a few knowing references to "Elvira Madigan," and you've got this precocious film, a movie that beats all the X-rated filmmakers in the world to the punch at creating an "adult movie" that's not only also a "real movie" but a truly "good movie" as well.
"All About Anna" is a love letter from Denmark, written in English, sent from the heart, a "Vinland Saga" for American audiences. - Victor Manzon

Secret Desires of a Housewife 2 Review

Secret Desires of a Housewife 2
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I really have no idea what the plot of this movie is - and I didnt care! I watched it for the sex scenes only! There are, I believe 5 sex scenes in all. Not enough for my taste, but each scene is about 10 minutes long. The girls are naked often and we even see some pink from a couple of them, but you have to watch for it, not every actress here shows it.
I'm not very familiar with the actresses except for Akira Lane, who is the really hot asain girl in the movie. She has two very good scenes. There is also a girl/girl scene which is fairly hot, though unfortunatly for me, Akira was not in it.
This movie has a hardcore porn feel to it. I'm actually wondering if one or two of the scenes werent faked! Little things also add to the porn feel, like - the way this whole movie is filmed; it's almost as if they just used an average everyday video camera to shoot it, although the video quality is very good. And also, we hear the slapping of skin against skin in this movie - just like we hear in all hardcore porn, which is something I dont think I've seen in any other "softcore" movie.
I thought it was pretty good - and I know my softcore porn!

Satan's School for Lust (2001) Review

Satan's School for Lust (2001)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Satan's School For Lust is a pretty good movie from the guys at Seduction Cinema. With both Darian Caine and Misty Mundae in the movie, it could hardly be unwatchable. The story, what there is of it, is pretty simple. A young and naïve Primula Cooper (played convincingly by the generally far from naïve Misty Mundae) is sent off to the Diablo School for Girls while her father is out of the country. Before she leaves home, she begins having dreams of a sinisterly attractive woman (Darian Caine) coming to her in bed and putting a crucifix to a use that some folks might have a problem with. Once Primula arrives at the school, she meets with the weird, Bible-phobic head mistress Miss Beezle (I don't think I need explain the significance of this name to you, bub), played by Barbara Joyce, and tries to adjust to sharing a room with her Phoenix (Ruby LaRocca), her Gothic girl roommate. We soon learn that the Diablo school has a history of students disappearing, and an intrepid reporter (Kelli Summers) who comes calling finds out everything she wants to know and more. Eventually, we learn that Miss Beezle and Phoenix are trying to summon "the dark lord," and the innocent Primula may be just the girl virtuous enough to make the ritual work. There is a little bit of a surprise at the end, which I did not expect but did appreciate.
This movie is definitely not for the youngsters, especially given the fact that its percentage of erotic action is above average and there is just a little bit of discipline-related activity involved-hey, what do you expect at a place dubbed Satan's School For Lust? Misty Mundae fans should know that, although she is the star of the picture, her character is almost forgotten in the middle stages of the movie, with everything centering around Miss Beezle. Darian Caine doesn't get a lot of screen time herself, and she has not one line of dialogue (which might please some who aren't particularly fond of her voice for some reason). I would certainly recommend this movie to fans of this type of thing; there's plenty of good action, and the little twist at the end makes a statement that the plot is not completely unimportant this time around-almost, but not completely.
The DVD contains a number of extra goodies: a behind the scenes featurette, deleted scenes, a full color booklet, a trailer reel, and a bonus feature called Blood For the Muse starring Tina Krause and Tammy Parks.

Playboy / Real Couples: Sex in Dangerous Places (1995)
Average Reviews:

Okay, this flick was good for a playboy movie...however it was boring. Plus, there was nothing "dangerous" about the sex. Plus the sex was terrible and considering that these people were supposed to be "couples" the sex looked fake. Don't waste your time or money on this one. Also, i use the word sex sparingly, because there was more kissing than anything else.

I think everyone interested in the adult cinema should pick up this DVD, it's a great show. The story is not one of those typical non-sense sex-seeker one, and also the way they handle the sex scenes are very interesting. I love to see more from this studio, being an adult cinema fan sick of all the stupid X rated films.

This rating is not for the movie which is good and every bit what the other reviewers have noted. My beef is with the DVD which is 85 minutes and even shorter than the VHS version which is 92 minutes. Can someone tell me why? If anything, the director's cut should have been produced on DVD. What a disappointment!

Secrets of the Dead - Amazon Warrior Women Review

Secrets of the Dead - Amazon Warrior Women
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This film takes you along an Anthropologists hunt for the descendents of the infamous Amazons, a society of female warriors heralded in ancient literature and art. Follow along as Dr. Davis-Kimball, along with her colleagues, discovers an ancient burial ground in Russia that bears up tall skeletons dressed in gold beads, follow as they extract mtDNA (mitochondrial DNA, which is passed on from mother to daughter down through the generations) from the skeletons, follow as Dr. Davis-Kimball tracks the Amazons through Greek literature and art, and finally follow her to the steppes of southeast Russia to an isolated Nomad family that just might be descended from a small group of the Amazons. These lost Amazons, who were captured by the Greek army and then overtook their captors, found a new land and intermarried with and fought next to the men they found there.
I found very little to criticize about the film. The stories of the Amazons in Greek literature suggested that Dr. Davis-Kimball search out Caucasoid features in the nomadic peoples. And in the film she is surprised when a forensic scientist creates a skeletal reconstruction that looks like no known people and has brown hair. My question is, why does she make such a big deal about the brown hair when the hair color was entirely speculative anyway? In addition, between scenes, there are clips of skinny blond model-like women with swords (it is highly improbable that the Amazons would have been lightly built, as they would not have had sufficient strength for battle). I suppose they were shown as contrast to Davis-Kimball's actual discoveries and as illustrations of the Greek myths, but they were also somewhat distracting from the science of the film.
There is much to learn from this film, from Greek art, to the rarely seen culture of the steppes people, to the ancient topography of the land, to genetics. Being a scientist myself, I can say that the science is superb and it is refreshing to see the mitochondrial (maternal) DNA followed, as another recently popularized researcher erroneously stated that the only way to track human evolution is to follow the Y-Chromosome, only found in men.
The film is not intended to be a thorough investigation into the mythical Amazon culture, but is about discovering the true Amazon women, from whose stature and deeds the myths were borne.

Emmanuelle (1974) Review

Emmanuelle (1974)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
It is amazing that over a quarter of a century since its original release that Emmanuelle remains in the top three best selling French films on video. But is it so remarkable? Here we have a piece of pure eroticism which has scarcely been matched in all those years. Emmanuelle is not about explicit sexual action - those that buy it will be disappointed if that is what they expect, with the exception of the notorious nightclub smoking scene which I feel sure director Just Jaeckin must now regret including. If it is possible to feel outraged by anything when watching a movie about sex, then this scene provokes that reaction. No, this is a mainstream movie which has the power to move both men and women viewers - not least because of a towering central performance by the gloriously sexy Ms Kristel. She is never self-conscious about her body nor at the same time ever flaunts it. Her nudity is completely natural and her joy in her exploration of her sexuality totally convincing.
This is because Kristel - and a high-profile supporting cast - are all extremely capable actors, and are very well directed by Jaeckin. I guess one should not take the overall premise of totally liberated sexual experimentation too seriously, but you completely believe in the characters and want them to come out of the other side unscathed. I first saw this movie as an 18-year-old on its original release, saw it again with its original French dialogue in Paris several years later and have watched it countless times on video and TV since. Yet it still retains the same erotic charge as it did all those years ago. How Kristel managed to completely fail to live up to it in her subsequent films is completely beyond me. The rest of her Emmanuelle series are unsexy and even seedy by comparison and her ventures into American films offered her nothing of any substance. I believe Hollywood missed a glorious opportunity to create an top international star.

Married People, Single Sex: Urban Adultery (2002) Review

Married People, Single Sex: Urban Adultery (2002)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
In this film, the viewer sees the lives and struggles of three young couples: one Asian, one Black, and one white. It was great seeing couples of different racial backgrounds getting along. And there is some interracial sexuality here, so there's no inherent antimiscegenation bias or anything. It's filmed in video, rather than film. The acting is bad, but not terrible. This bordered on soft core pornography to me, so I'm surprised that it was available for renting at a certain "family friendly" rental chain. It wasn't totally heteropatriarchal: there was more female nudity than male, but there was some male nudity. The Asian woman in this film was an awful actress. The white guy in this film looked a lot like the white actor on the television show "The Fast Lane." I loved seeing such a ruggedly masculine Asian-American man in film. However, the Asian guy and the Black had terrible teeth! The white couple argues over whether to do a female-dominated menage a trois. Like in "What's Cooking?", homosexuality or bisexuality is relegated to whites only and I find that kinda disturbing and unrealistic. All the couples live in houses that no young, middle-class couple could ever dream of owning. Further, the film has these cheesy solo interviews a la MTV's "Real World" series that are kinda silly. Was this supposed to be a romantic drama? A chick flick? Some "erotica"? I don't know. Still, this is a mediocre film which some will enjoy and others will detest.

I was in the mood for a nature film and really didn't want to watch
meerkats or penguins, so I popped in this film of California
landscapes.
No dialog, just beautiful music and a visit to some of the prettiest
places in California. Christa and her friends took turns showing the
beauty that this State has to offer. If it wasn't for raging wildfires,
I would have jumped in my car right then to see more.
Absolutely beautiful peaks and valleys that took my breath away. There
were not a lot of trees, but some bushes that were incredible.
Some people like to look at fish in an aquarium to relax. I found that
Christa and her friends just walking through the California desert and
along country roads or in flowing fields enabled me to relax my cares
away.

In 3 DVDs , for a very good price, you can watch the complete series of Playboy Wet & Wild : 10 titles, some unavailable, from 1989 to 2002.
These titles, in my opinion, are among the best of Playboy (a must for PB collectors): the playmates, as usual, are gorgeous, but there is a richness of cheerfulness, innocence, joie de vivre, lacking in more recent Playboy productions.

It took FOREVER to receive this movie from the seller but almost 2 months later it finally arrived. I was hoping since Daniel Auteuil was in this movie that it would be good...but uhh...it's a movie about swingers. There wasn't a lot of information about the plot of the film but this is not a typical French movie like "Le Placard" (The Closet) or "Apre Vous". The first half of the movie went okay I guess but the characters always looked uncomfortable. Then all of a sudden Daniel's wife goes upstairs with Adam (the husband from the other couple)?! It came totally out of nowhere. The next 15 minutes left me totally confused. Once I figured out they turned out to be swingers it made sense but then the rest of the movie just died....no movement of plot, no drama, no comedy...nothing. And then all of a sudden the movie is over. It was a waste of some good talent and money and time I spent waiting for this film. Don't bother with this one.
