Housewives from Another World Review

If you've ever watched Cinemax After Dark, you've seen this movie or one like it. Production value is high. Acting is on par for this style of movie. People are good looking. Sets are someone's multi-million dollar home. Lot's of simulated sex, full frontal female nudity & shower scenes. Pets & pornstars abound. Cheesy story line, but let's be honest, did we really buy this for an Oscar winning performance? My only question is this, 's the next one going to be released?

Bikini Royale 2: The Right to Bare All Review

Bikini Royale 2: The Right to Bare All
Average Reviews:

Retromedia always is hit and miss...and this one is a hit. Certainly one of the best by Retromedia and possibly THE best.
I'm no Beverly Lynne fan, but she's cuter here than I've ever seen her, both in how she looks and how she acts. The rest of the cast of female actresses is amazing, as Fred Olen Raye deviated from the usual lineup and went with Brandin Rackley (absolutely, positively scorchingly hot) and Jayden Cole (incredible breasts), along with a fourth-bill blonde newcomer who is just plain smoking. And all of the newbies can act pretty well, too. Awesome!
The plot even is humorous and fairly entertaining in its own right. It's clear which releases that Ray gives more care to and which are throwaways; this one was handled with some tenderness while some others (like the hugely disappointing Voodoo Dollz) were treated like red-haired stepchildren.
Most impressive (besides the production values which I found to be as high as anything that Ray ever has done) are the fantastic sex scenes. There are Retromedia releases with better plots than this one but I've never seen Retromedia top this one in terms of sexiness. The men and women genuinely seem turned on and the sex looks really very realistic. The only qualm that I have--and I say this a lot about these movies--is that there is no real graphic nudity here other than some very, very fleeting accidental glances.

Ninja Vixens, Vol. 6 - Forbidden Paradise Review

Ninja Vixens, Vol. 6 - Forbidden Paradise
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Anyone expecting a great viewing experience from a movie with a title like "Ninja Vixens, Vol. 6 - Forbidden Paradise" really needs to examine their expectations. Take a look at the cover. That is what you are going to get.

In the long tradition of the Japanese "pink" film, this is the latest versions of the sexy fighting girl theme, women who seem to do far more bathing than combat, and know that a ninja's best weapon isn't necessarily her throwing stars. The only thing that really matters in a flick like this is the hope that the story isn't too bad, and that the chicks are hot.
Well rest assured. The story isn't too bad, and the chicks are hot. "Ninja Vixens" is actually a somewhat long-running series. I have only seen this one, but that didn't really matter. There isn't much by way of story continuity. This one tells the tale of woe of two ninja vixen sisters who rescue a handsome young samurai on the run. Well, there can be only one conclusion when two sisters fall in love with the same guy in a "Ninja Vixen" series, and it isn't fighting. Unfortunately, the demon hag Ogen shows up, and the gals have to take a break from their bathing to earn the ninja vixen name.
The ninja vixen trio is made up of Misaki Kanda, Mizuho Enomoto and Yuki Matsuda. Don't look for their prior acting experience, because that isn't why they were hired. Former race queens and models, they are all nicely pretty and bouncy in the right places, and emote only as a girl in a pink film should.
As a pink film, the nudity is all strictly T&A, and the sex scenes are all highly simulated. The "Ninja Vixens" series has more in common with the genre of 80's sex comedies, like Ski School and H.O.T.S., than rough Japanese flicks like Wife to Be Sacrificed and Flower & Snake. Take a look at the costumes, which are straight out of a bad 80's music video, and it will give you an idea of what to expect!

Inside Club Wild Side (1999) Review

Inside Club Wild Side (1999)
Average Reviews:

This wasn't a great movie, even by softcore standards, but it does it's job. A barely-there plot combined with pretty, yet flexible women equals a decent way to spend 85 minutes. Ahmo Hight doesn't get as flexible in this movie as she does in Hotel Exotica, but she's good to look at anyway. Once again, Monique Parent steals the show. This time around she's a primary character instead of a supporting character like in the first "Club Wild Side" movie. Look for plenty of naked chicks; don't look for anything else.

I Like to Play Games Too (1998) Review

I Like to Play Games Too (1998)
Average Reviews:

This filmmaker seems to triumphantly know his audience - and why they watch his movie. I liked this movie for the extra margin of sophisticated details the filmmaker labors to please its crowd - the rich details in props, ornaments, and costumes - for example, I was really impressed with the toe-rings Maria Ford wore in one scene or all the tuxedos men wore in another party scene. This is a top-notch erotic thriller with a feel of the "Secret Games" series with lots of "surprising" usual suspects. I mean, we all know these bimbos will somehow get naked, but how should it be shown to be refreshing and shocking? The direct answers this question with more money spent on actors' clothes and props and some bold lesbian scenes. However, I thought just too many sexy blondes in the movie were a downside - sorta make me feel numb about seeing yet another blonde undressing.

Satan's School for Lust (2001) Review

Satan's School for Lust (2001)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Satan's School For Lust is a pretty good movie from the guys at Seduction Cinema. With both Darian Caine and Misty Mundae in the movie, it could hardly be unwatchable. The story, what there is of it, is pretty simple. A young and naïve Primula Cooper (played convincingly by the generally far from naïve Misty Mundae) is sent off to the Diablo School for Girls while her father is out of the country. Before she leaves home, she begins having dreams of a sinisterly attractive woman (Darian Caine) coming to her in bed and putting a crucifix to a use that some folks might have a problem with. Once Primula arrives at the school, she meets with the weird, Bible-phobic head mistress Miss Beezle (I don't think I need explain the significance of this name to you, bub), played by Barbara Joyce, and tries to adjust to sharing a room with her Phoenix (Ruby LaRocca), her Gothic girl roommate. We soon learn that the Diablo school has a history of students disappearing, and an intrepid reporter (Kelli Summers) who comes calling finds out everything she wants to know and more. Eventually, we learn that Miss Beezle and Phoenix are trying to summon "the dark lord," and the innocent Primula may be just the girl virtuous enough to make the ritual work. There is a little bit of a surprise at the end, which I did not expect but did appreciate.
This movie is definitely not for the youngsters, especially given the fact that its percentage of erotic action is above average and there is just a little bit of discipline-related activity involved-hey, what do you expect at a place dubbed Satan's School For Lust? Misty Mundae fans should know that, although she is the star of the picture, her character is almost forgotten in the middle stages of the movie, with everything centering around Miss Beezle. Darian Caine doesn't get a lot of screen time herself, and she has not one line of dialogue (which might please some who aren't particularly fond of her voice for some reason). I would certainly recommend this movie to fans of this type of thing; there's plenty of good action, and the little twist at the end makes a statement that the plot is not completely unimportant this time around-almost, but not completely.
The DVD contains a number of extra goodies: a behind the scenes featurette, deleted scenes, a full color booklet, a trailer reel, and a bonus feature called Blood For the Muse starring Tina Krause and Tammy Parks.

Booby Trap / The Takers (1971) Review

Booby Trap / The Takers (1971)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The admittedly promising DVD cover lured me to buying this SOMETHING WEIRD double feature. Well, it is not so explosive as the title and artwork suggests.
The first movie BOOBY TRAP starts with a troubled ex-marine buying 40 Claymore mines and blowing the soldier who illegally sold him the explosives to smithereens, just for the fun of it. Cheering, he breaks out in maniacal laughter and fires his pump action shotgun.
A really promising start, but what a pity that the rest of the film does not live up to the first minutes. From now on the story concerning the psycho ex-marine, who wants to use the Claymore mines to blow up the hippie audience visiting a rock concert, and a not very soldier-like looking military policeman trying to hunt the psycho down, drags. Sure, the story sounds interesting, but it sounds actually better than it is.It is much too talky and the action scenes are few and far between.
(Admittedly things liven up a little when it's showdown time.) Some female nudity and sex is on display, but nothing to write home about. And do not expect to see much explosives induced mayhem.
Sure, I can think of worse ways to kill my time, but the film is not essential viewing.
I liked the second feature THE TAKERS much better. E.J. and Willy are outlaw bikers. After a violent fight with another biker, an extended sex and drug session with two girls and a gas station hold up, the bikers raid the home of housewife Laura and her friend Barbie ("We're gonna have us a party with some educated social-type broads.") Much sexual encounters and drug abuse ensue, before Laura's husband (Carl MONSON, who played the ex-marine on the loose in BOOBY TRAP) suddenly returns from a business trip. As you probably guessed it is comeuppance time now...Oh, and there is a silly surprise ending, which will have you shake your head in disbelief. (In the stage world this is called "BRECHTian alienation effect", I think). Believe me, it is REALLY silly!
Aside from that THE TAKERS is very sleazy and fun entertainment indeed.
As can be expected from SWV company their DVD offers many extra features. There are 9 trailers. It must be said that the BOOBY TRAP trailers are better than the movie itself. Generally, all trailers are a bit too long and give away too much of the respective movies. I liked the BLACK ALLEY CATS and the BLACK BUNCH trailer best. Curiously, there is a trailer for a movie called YOUNG AND WILD, which appears to be a different cut of BOOBY TRAP with more explicit sex scenes.
Another extra is a short documentary about motorcycle freaks, THESE ARE THE ALIENS! It ends rather abruptly, so I guess it is only a part of a longer film. The bikers are shown in their favorite activities (boozing, smoking grass, having sex, and chatting about their bad experiences with the law). Recommended only for die-hard biker (movie) fans.
The usual black and white striptease short subject is also not missing. It is called MAGNIFICENT MONIQUE, rather old and with horrible picture quality (what else do you expect?) Despite these shortcomings I really liked it, mainly because of the top-heavy "actress".

Working Girls (1974) Review

Working Girls (1974)
Average Reviews:

From the description, I thought this might be one of those amusing T&A flicks from the 70's. The ones where the girls are jiggling out of their tops in all sorts of preposterous situations. The story is boring, not funny at all. Cassandra Peterson is topless, not naked as the alternative title suggests. It's definatley her, she does the same thing with her eyes that she does when accenting a punchline as the Elvira character. When you've seen this once, your not likely to sit through it again.

Playboy - Wet and Wild Live Backstage Pass (2002) Review

Playboy - Wet and Wild Live Backstage Pass (2002)
Average Reviews:

I was disappointed again with this video from Playboy. I would expect a company that has been photographing and videotaping women to produce a better product. I have been a fan of Playboy for over 20 years so I know what their track record is. This video starts out with a couple of short clips of the actual Bikini Show in Vegas - it made me want to see more, but that was it. There is not much of the actual show. The "Backstage" scenes were disappointingly average. The women removed their bikinis and the camera panned up and down their bodies. Each scene pretty much had the same level of eroticism - medium. The women were beautiful - just what you would expect from Playboy. But they didn't generate a lot of excitement or heat.
If you want to know what I like from past DVDs from Playboy, check out the two "Shower Scenes" or the "Carwash" scene from the "Cheerleaders" video or "Double Exposure" from "Girls Behaving Badly".

I think everyone interested in the adult cinema should pick up this DVD, it's a great show. The story is not one of those typical non-sense sex-seeker one, and also the way they handle the sex scenes are very interesting. I love to see more from this studio, being an adult cinema fan sick of all the stupid X rated films.

Sexual Incantations Review

Sexual Incantations
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Fans of the divine Darian Caine should enjoy this delicious soft-core comedy: she appears in almost every scene in the movie, and she features in every sex scene. Yes, a film full of naked Darian is a very pleasant way to spend eighty minutes. Even kitted out in a frumpy dress that resembles an oversize sack and nerdy glasses with her hair in pigtails, she still looks sizzling hot.
We are asked to believe, for the sake of this movie, that Darian is so socially inept that she is reduced to passing the time by counting leaves on plants and playing chess against herself. "Excuse me, sir will you be my friend? Would you like to come to my house for tea?" she enquires of (unseen) passers-by. She has no takers, but come on, you know they'd be queuing for miles at such a prospect. Darian, meanwhile, fantasizes about Annie Oakley. "You're so strong and manly," she tells the sharpshooter of her dreams.
Visiting a games emporium, the counter clerk (Jimmy Doyle) suggests a Ouija Board may enable her to conjure up a few friends. And, wouldn't you know it, before long a veritable procession of famous people from the past come into Darian's house. These include Cleopatra (CJ DiMarsico), Mata Hari (Keli Anderson) and Helen of Troy. Needless to say, all these ladies are eager to get naked with Darian.
The film's original title, `Sensual Incantations', has been dropped, incorrectly in my opinion, for this release, although its original name does appear in the opening titles. Incorrectly, I think because the new title has a more aggressive tone to it; this is actually quite a gentle sex comedy. Directed by the appallingly named Thelonius Punk, the sex scenes are neatly handled here and are allowed to flow more freely than was the case in the disappointing Softcore Divas: Behind the G-Strings which he also helmed.
Many of the supporting actresses are new to me and the film's disappointing lack of cast credits means that I can't tell you exactly who plays what role. However, the other actresses are: Iris Blue, Angela Bianca and Brandy D'Vinn. All perform admirably and are very attractive.
There aren't too many extras on this DVD. It would have been nice if an interview with Darian could have been included because she carries most of the movie and is credited with coming up with the story. However, we do have a 10 minute interlude called `Keli at the Office' featuring the lovely Keli Anderson wearing very little in an office and not getting too much work done. A sample from `42nd Street Pete's Busty Stag Collection' is also included among the extras along with a trailer reel for other Secret Key productions.

The Good, the Bad, and the Beautiful: They're Wanted (2004) Review

The Good, the Bad, and the Beautiful: They're Wanted (2004)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Another good, sexy, fun softcore romp from Retromedia. Nicole Sheridan and Beverly Lynne end up inheriting an old, western ghost town. But there's an evil landowner nearby who wants to scare her into selling it so that he can get his hands on its legendary lost silver mine. But the ghost of Calamity Kate helps fend him off.
Throughout this little adventure, we get six sex scenes. Four are boy/girl, one is girl/girl, and one is girl/girl/girl. The first four were excellent, the final two were okay, but could have been better. The lesbian three way should have been the highlight of the video, but it was one of the weaker scenes. Nicole was in four of the scenes, so this is a really good video for fans of her. Beverly is in two scenes. There were two other girls who were in the girl/girl scene, and they did a great job. Belinda Gavin (aka, Kylie Wyote) is also present, and is in one scene.
The other movie on the DVD, Bikini Academy, is barely worth mentioning. I sped through it on fast forward, and it looked really bad, with very little nudity and one very weak sex scene.
However, if you've enjoyed past Retromedia releases, or want something that gives you a lot of Nicole Sheridan, this is an easy recommendation.

Secrets of the Dead - Amazon Warrior Women Review

Secrets of the Dead - Amazon Warrior Women
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This film takes you along an Anthropologists hunt for the descendents of the infamous Amazons, a society of female warriors heralded in ancient literature and art. Follow along as Dr. Davis-Kimball, along with her colleagues, discovers an ancient burial ground in Russia that bears up tall skeletons dressed in gold beads, follow as they extract mtDNA (mitochondrial DNA, which is passed on from mother to daughter down through the generations) from the skeletons, follow as Dr. Davis-Kimball tracks the Amazons through Greek literature and art, and finally follow her to the steppes of southeast Russia to an isolated Nomad family that just might be descended from a small group of the Amazons. These lost Amazons, who were captured by the Greek army and then overtook their captors, found a new land and intermarried with and fought next to the men they found there.
I found very little to criticize about the film. The stories of the Amazons in Greek literature suggested that Dr. Davis-Kimball search out Caucasoid features in the nomadic peoples. And in the film she is surprised when a forensic scientist creates a skeletal reconstruction that looks like no known people and has brown hair. My question is, why does she make such a big deal about the brown hair when the hair color was entirely speculative anyway? In addition, between scenes, there are clips of skinny blond model-like women with swords (it is highly improbable that the Amazons would have been lightly built, as they would not have had sufficient strength for battle). I suppose they were shown as contrast to Davis-Kimball's actual discoveries and as illustrations of the Greek myths, but they were also somewhat distracting from the science of the film.
There is much to learn from this film, from Greek art, to the rarely seen culture of the steppes people, to the ancient topography of the land, to genetics. Being a scientist myself, I can say that the science is superb and it is refreshing to see the mitochondrial (maternal) DNA followed, as another recently popularized researcher erroneously stated that the only way to track human evolution is to follow the Y-Chromosome, only found in men.
The film is not intended to be a thorough investigation into the mythical Amazon culture, but is about discovering the true Amazon women, from whose stature and deeds the myths were borne.

Yellow Hair and the Fortress of Gold (1984) Review

Yellow Hair and the Fortress of Gold (1984)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Pretty standard movie for the era, involving brutal tortures of gold hunters in the opening scenes, the twisted, comical Spanish/Mexican general as the evil villian, "noble" savages, a lost inca temple, humor, a tough (and very plain) leading lady, an easy-going western hero, this is a Western adventure. Bar fights, stage coach chases, running out of ammo, snakes in tumble weeds hured at the enemy, neither nudity nor sex - wasn't anything new for westerns. Acting was sometimes cheesy, film was not always perfect but was okay, it starts as if it's part of a cliffhanger series ("Last time our hero...") and ends as one. Hard core western fans might want to give it a try and people wih simple tastes. I was tempted to give it 2 stars - it's pretty vanilla - but I don't watch movies I don't think I'll like.

Intimate Obsession Review

Intimate Obsession
Average Reviews:

I'm not sure anyone who wants to buy this movie is seriously looking for a well written script, but in case you want to know more of the "web of deceit and betrayal" as advertised on the back cover of the video tape, here's the plot. Rachel Taylor, played by Jodie Fisher, is the beautiful and neglected wife of a lawyer whose successful career is getting on a fast track. As Tom Taylor's busy schedule leaves Rachel so bored, she begins a torrid affair with Rick Simms, a boxing-contender-turned-sexy-bartender, while Tom is also having an affair with a buxom blondie named Laura (played by Kristi Scott of the "Bikini Carwash Company" series). Before long, Rachel discovers that Tom hired Rick to seduce her so he could get grounds for a divorce, so she sets out to turn the tables on him...
Although "Intimate Obsession" is viewed by some tough critics as a bottom shelf erotic thriller (obviously due to poor acting and directing), I think the cinematography is pretty good and the curvy Jodie Fisher deserves some credit as a real eye candy. Anyway, she would go on with her career, and apart from some minor roles opposite Lisa Boyle and Shannon Tweed, she does get another leading role in "Body of Influence 2" a few years later. Good for her.

Married People, Single Sex: Urban Adultery (2002) Review

Married People, Single Sex: Urban Adultery (2002)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
In this film, the viewer sees the lives and struggles of three young couples: one Asian, one Black, and one white. It was great seeing couples of different racial backgrounds getting along. And there is some interracial sexuality here, so there's no inherent antimiscegenation bias or anything. It's filmed in video, rather than film. The acting is bad, but not terrible. This bordered on soft core pornography to me, so I'm surprised that it was available for renting at a certain "family friendly" rental chain. It wasn't totally heteropatriarchal: there was more female nudity than male, but there was some male nudity. The Asian woman in this film was an awful actress. The white guy in this film looked a lot like the white actor on the television show "The Fast Lane." I loved seeing such a ruggedly masculine Asian-American man in film. However, the Asian guy and the Black had terrible teeth! The white couple argues over whether to do a female-dominated menage a trois. Like in "What's Cooking?", homosexuality or bisexuality is relegated to whites only and I find that kinda disturbing and unrealistic. All the couples live in houses that no young, middle-class couple could ever dream of owning. Further, the film has these cheesy solo interviews a la MTV's "Real World" series that are kinda silly. Was this supposed to be a romantic drama? A chick flick? Some "erotica"? I don't know. Still, this is a mediocre film which some will enjoy and others will detest.

Attack Girls' Swim Team vs. the Undead Review

Attack Girls' Swim Team vs. the Undead
Average Reviews:

Attack Girls Swim Team vs. the Undead (Koji Kawano, 2007)
Okay, let's start off by saying that if you're the kind of person who sees a title like Attack Girls Swim Team vs. the Undead and does not immediately think "THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER", you're probably in the wrong place. Because that's exactly what I thought when I saw the title of this movie, and, well, I'm the guy who's writing the review. If we're coming from entirely different mindsets... you know. And while the movie doesn't live up to the promise of the title, it's certainly good for a romp.
Aki (Sasa Handa) is the new girl at school. Keeps to herself, quiet, that sort of thing. One day, Sayaka (Yuria Hidaka), seeing her at the side of the pool and mistaking her for someone else, pushes her in as a prank. The two of them become fast friends after that, but this is no simple friendship drama. Because, after all, there must be an evil mastermind experimenting on the school (where else but in Japan?), administering a "vaccine" for a cold that's going around. But, yeah, vaccine? It makes zombies of everyone but Aki and the girls' swim team, who must find a cure.
No, it's not a great movie, and most of the time it's not even a good movie. But on the Joe Bob Briggs blood, breasts, and beasts scale, it gets top marks in all three categories (including one scene between Handa and Hidaka that wouldn't be out of place in an Emmanuelle flick), and it adds a continual element of just plan weird, in that style the Japanese do so well. The climax of the movie is just jaw-dropping. I mean, really, off-the-scale, [censored for Amazon consumption] nuts. And hysterically funny, if that kind of humor works for you.
So, yeah, not a good movie, but it's the kind of bad movie that transcends its badness and becomes something great. This is one you owe it to yourself to watch. ****
