CHAIN REACTION (1996) Review

CHAIN REACTION (1996)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was hoping this movie would be either a porn or a documentary. It turned out to be neither. Although I'm an admitted fan of the Bel Ami boys - especially Johan - I was pretty disappointed. It's about as close to an R-Rated gay porn as you can get.
It's trying to be a documentary about a young gay's "struggle with being gay" (Can you say... Cliche?) and it is missing the mark completely. The only dialog in the movie is a British voice using an annoying echo to represent Johan's thoughts. I'm sure even the real Johan is disappointed with the "thoughts" which are more like random ramblings.
If you like looking at naked Bel Ami bodies (presented in the "Playboy Channel" style) and are willing to use ALOT of imagination, this is your film. But be warned, there are much better ways to spend your dollars and see these same bodies doing much more. These are all XXX gay porn stars. This must have been a walk in the park for them.
My advice is not to waste your time or money on this movie.

Okay, this flick was good for a playboy movie...however it was boring. Plus, there was nothing "dangerous" about the sex. Plus the sex was terrible and considering that these people were supposed to be "couples" the sex looked fake. Don't waste your time or money on this one. Also, i use the word sex sparingly, because there was more kissing than anything else.

Booby Trap / The Takers (1971) Review

Booby Trap / The Takers (1971)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The admittedly promising DVD cover lured me to buying this SOMETHING WEIRD double feature. Well, it is not so explosive as the title and artwork suggests.
The first movie BOOBY TRAP starts with a troubled ex-marine buying 40 Claymore mines and blowing the soldier who illegally sold him the explosives to smithereens, just for the fun of it. Cheering, he breaks out in maniacal laughter and fires his pump action shotgun.
A really promising start, but what a pity that the rest of the film does not live up to the first minutes. From now on the story concerning the psycho ex-marine, who wants to use the Claymore mines to blow up the hippie audience visiting a rock concert, and a not very soldier-like looking military policeman trying to hunt the psycho down, drags. Sure, the story sounds interesting, but it sounds actually better than it is.It is much too talky and the action scenes are few and far between.
(Admittedly things liven up a little when it's showdown time.) Some female nudity and sex is on display, but nothing to write home about. And do not expect to see much explosives induced mayhem.
Sure, I can think of worse ways to kill my time, but the film is not essential viewing.
I liked the second feature THE TAKERS much better. E.J. and Willy are outlaw bikers. After a violent fight with another biker, an extended sex and drug session with two girls and a gas station hold up, the bikers raid the home of housewife Laura and her friend Barbie ("We're gonna have us a party with some educated social-type broads.") Much sexual encounters and drug abuse ensue, before Laura's husband (Carl MONSON, who played the ex-marine on the loose in BOOBY TRAP) suddenly returns from a business trip. As you probably guessed it is comeuppance time now...Oh, and there is a silly surprise ending, which will have you shake your head in disbelief. (In the stage world this is called "BRECHTian alienation effect", I think). Believe me, it is REALLY silly!
Aside from that THE TAKERS is very sleazy and fun entertainment indeed.
As can be expected from SWV company their DVD offers many extra features. There are 9 trailers. It must be said that the BOOBY TRAP trailers are better than the movie itself. Generally, all trailers are a bit too long and give away too much of the respective movies. I liked the BLACK ALLEY CATS and the BLACK BUNCH trailer best. Curiously, there is a trailer for a movie called YOUNG AND WILD, which appears to be a different cut of BOOBY TRAP with more explicit sex scenes.
Another extra is a short documentary about motorcycle freaks, THESE ARE THE ALIENS! It ends rather abruptly, so I guess it is only a part of a longer film. The bikers are shown in their favorite activities (boozing, smoking grass, having sex, and chatting about their bad experiences with the law). Recommended only for die-hard biker (movie) fans.
The usual black and white striptease short subject is also not missing. It is called MAGNIFICENT MONIQUE, rather old and with horrible picture quality (what else do you expect?) Despite these shortcomings I really liked it, mainly because of the top-heavy "actress".

I can't say I was disappointed because I really didn't know what to expect, but I do have to admit, I didn't expect what I saw.
I was suprised to see the raw-edged, in-your-face real (I repeat, REAL) sex that ran rampant throughout this film. I was so distracted that I kept forgetting the plot-line (actually, I was confused with the plot, even without the graphic sex on-screen).
I understand the excitement of anonymous sex with strangers. That alone and without the attempts at being related episodes in one film, to me, lost the sensual appeal of the porn (yes, real porn) seen in this film. Then, failing to combine the written word with the visuals made the finished product seem amaturish
I am still not sure whether I enjoyed the efforts made by everyone involved or just lusted over certain cast members and turned off my hearing.
Well, as I said in my "headline" above... When all else fails (and so on).

Cannibal (2006) Review

Cannibal (2006)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
It has taken me awhile to write this review because I was so shocked by this movie after I saw it. It has stuck with me for the past week and it is probably a movie that I will never forget. What makes it so scarey is that it is based on a true story and is very factual. Be warned: this is a very gory movie and some of the scenes are very graphic for the gore. This movie also doesn't have much for dialog, but it really doesn't need dialog for the story being told. If you want a truely scarey horror flick, then see this movie. I do highly recommend it.

In 2003, a man with a lifelong cannibalistic obsession placed an advertisement on the Internet in search of a victim to eat. Unbelievably he received a reply from a willing victim, whereby the stage was set for one of the most awful and depraved crimes of modern times. The gruesome incident was captured on camcorder and the footage formed part of the evidence at the trial of the world's most infamous cannibal. CANNIBAL is a horrifying dramatic reenactment of the gruesome relationship between two depraved human beings: One with an insatiable appetite for human flesh, the other with a yearning to be consumed and thereby become one with the predator. Gruesome, repulsive but riveting, CANNIBAL cannot help but hold an awful fascination for devotees of the macabre.

Mad About the Boy Review

Mad About the Boy
Average Reviews:

This is not the hottest soft porn movie I have ever seen, but it is definitely one of the best. The fact that the movie is made up of four stories--based on real letters telling the stories of how these four different relationships began and what their status was at the time the letter was written--adds a real human element that is sadly lacking in many of the soft porn films out there. Out of the four stories only one of them had a sort of unhappy ending, so that made me happy because I am a romantic and love happy endings. One of the stories was a gay version of "Pretty Woman," which makes me wonder if the person, who sent the letter in, was just having fun writing a short story, but that is totally irrelevant, it was a very sweet story and I enjoyed it very much. I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone who is interested in this kind of movie. Mike Esser, who directed the movie and narrated the stories, has made some of the best soft pornography I have ever seen. Out of all the soft porn videos that I have seen, I have, by far, enjoyed his the best.

The Tribe Review

The Tribe
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Jamie (Jeremy Northam) is charged by the head of his firm with removing a mysterious group from some property he wants to develop. This `tribe' is a sort of cult, which barricades itself inside a gated mansion in a seedy part of London. Local, would-be hooligans are afraid of this group for no particular reason, especially considering the group is comprised of feeble, malnourished models. To earn a living, the Tribe sells electronic gadgetry on the street. How they obtain the gadgetry in the first place is a bit of a secret, though the group suspects it involves an exchange for sex between a desperate Japanese businessman and their leader, Emily (Joely Richardson). All of this is peripheral to the real crux of the group, which is free love. Jamie penetrates the group (quite literally) in the name of procuring the land that houses the group's fortress, though he finds himself increasingly both enamored of the Tribe's charm and disillusioned by his career ambitions. Made for the Beeb, there are certainly some silly moments, such as several scenes of the group strutting down the street or over meadows in their black robes, or barging into the compound of a competing sect and trying to form an alliance. Nonetheless, this film certainly provides enough mystery and allure to hold one's interest for most of its runtime. I initially wanted to watch it for Kate Isitt (of `Coupling' fame), though her role is very, very small. Not to fret, Northam and Richardson prove to be charming attractions. Anna Friel, however, practically steals the show as the wayward and free-spirited (read: loose) Lizzie. Fans of Jonathan Rhys Meyers probably will not be disappointed to find him fully nude in a couple scenes as well. There is also a series of this show, though I am not familiar with it. The DVD is presented in widescreen and the transfer looks great, though it lacks in all other departments; no subtitles or extras of any sort. This is not rated by the MPAA since it was made for TV, though it is the equivalent of an `R' rating due to full frontal nudity, profanity and a wee bit of violence.

Married People, Single Sex: Urban Adultery (2002) Review

Married People, Single Sex: Urban Adultery (2002)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
In this film, the viewer sees the lives and struggles of three young couples: one Asian, one Black, and one white. It was great seeing couples of different racial backgrounds getting along. And there is some interracial sexuality here, so there's no inherent antimiscegenation bias or anything. It's filmed in video, rather than film. The acting is bad, but not terrible. This bordered on soft core pornography to me, so I'm surprised that it was available for renting at a certain "family friendly" rental chain. It wasn't totally heteropatriarchal: there was more female nudity than male, but there was some male nudity. The Asian woman in this film was an awful actress. The white guy in this film looked a lot like the white actor on the television show "The Fast Lane." I loved seeing such a ruggedly masculine Asian-American man in film. However, the Asian guy and the Black had terrible teeth! The white couple argues over whether to do a female-dominated menage a trois. Like in "What's Cooking?", homosexuality or bisexuality is relegated to whites only and I find that kinda disturbing and unrealistic. All the couples live in houses that no young, middle-class couple could ever dream of owning. Further, the film has these cheesy solo interviews a la MTV's "Real World" series that are kinda silly. Was this supposed to be a romantic drama? A chick flick? Some "erotica"? I don't know. Still, this is a mediocre film which some will enjoy and others will detest.

Mojave Review

Mojave
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The premise is confusing - guy in relationship has commitment problems, has dream while in Mojave desert with his partner, a guy, walks throuhg Mojave and meets in three scenarios with attractive guys, is denied sex by first guy, watches two twinks simulate love-making and get "come-hither" signal to join in, then makes it (maybe - all sex is simulated and hidden) with a young nymph of a guy. He then wakes up and for the next interminable period (seemed-like-an-hour) makes soft-porn love with his partner.
There are pretty bodies, the scenery is great, but there is too little of it, the music is an intrusively repetitious guitar, and the photography very good. But there is very little dialogue - a few sentences in the opening scene, a few in the "gee, I fell asleep" stage. Enough to be sure that these aren't actors, just very handsome men better watched in a darkened theatre than in the light of day.
One has the feeling of a 1960s softcore porn flick made with all the lavish detail of a 2008 porn film, but with the same caliber of actor - eye candy, no more.
If see it you must, have your fast-forward button well-lubed, and try to get a much-used copy at a knock-down price. You'll probably not watch it again.

Phoenix (2006) Review

Phoenix (2006)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
PHOENIX is the third feature by Michael D. Akers as a director and writer (here sharing the credits with Sandon Berg) and as with his other two features 'Matrimonium' and 'Gone, But Not Forgotten' there is a sense that Akers knows how to tell a good story, a story based on universal themes but just happening to be using gay characters to explain a similarity in all manners of love whether they be straight or gay.
LVN Dylan (Chad Bartley) is celebrating his 23rd birthday by setting his apartment with flowers and dinner, expecting his love of one year to arrive for the surprise. The love is Ken (Gaetano Jones) who arrives late and barely notices the setting, giving Dylan a clay vase as a gift and then telling him he must dash off to Phoenix for a failing real estate deal. Dylan is hurt then angry and breaks his gift, sending Ken off to Phoenix in a miff. Sorry for his behavior Dylan takes the money enclosed in a Birthday card from his folks and flies to Phoenix to apologize to Ken. But surprises arise in Phoenix: Ken is missing, Dylan traces the broken vase to discover chef/ceramist Demetrius (Jeff Castle) and learns that Ken and Demetrius have been partnered for seven years! Neither Dylan nor Demetrius is pleased with Ken's lying and cheating but they gradually admit to finding solace with each other and spend time together, including a physical encounter that leads to others as the two prolong Dylan's stay. How the love triangle is broken but remains influential is the resolution of the story.
Akers has the sensitivity to not make the story have the happy-wappy Hollywood ending: he also has the talent to capture love encounters in a very sensual way. The actors are all attractive men and given the lack of prior experience each has had, they offer fairly strong performances - especially Chad Bartley. The film is desperately in need of editing as there are extraneous scenes galore (the landscape scenes are far to brightly sun drenched for the desert locales captured. But in the end the film is successful in that it does present the joys, trials, and disappointments in love relationships in the gay community that could have easily been in a straight character movie - and that is refreshing! Ken Park (Uncut Uncensored Director's Version - Import) (2002) Review

Ken Park (Uncut Uncensored Director's Version - Import) (2002)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is gorilla film making. Ken Park is an incredibly difficult film to watch - in fact it will be impossible to watch for some. Yet, if you allow yourself to be taken into its world, the film paints a disturbingly accurate portrait of a certain culture which is not at all hard to believe.
We see the majority of characters longing, wanting to make a connection with other humans yet feeling alienated. We see, remarkably, the confusion and disinterest of a major portion of an entire generation that views life as hopeless.
The violence, nudity, graphic (and actual) sex never feel like exploitation or pornography, but they will surely keep a majority of Americans from viewing it. Good thing too, or they'd be asking for Larry Clark's head on a silver platter!
If you try to watch this with an open mind, and can leave your inhabitions and judgment at the door, it will be impossible not to be moved - and powerfully so - by this raw and disturbing film.

I call it Hot Hot Hot........

Product DescriptionThe third installment to this fun series is comprised of smaller shorts, each with its own story and lovely lads of course. In "Love Me Even If You Don't," a hot muscular gay farm boy (Bryan Wilde) who has spent years entertaining straight boys is getting tired of this dead end routine and realizes that what he really needs is a different thing completely. He zeroes in on a blond fair skin neighbor with a 10" dick (Newcomer Mike Austin) to quench his love thirst. He will be ready to pay Mike's rent for a whole two months if that stud can pretend to be his lover for one day only (not just sex the whole emotional "husband" Enchilada.) The soft-core erotic session that follows is one of the most riveting Toby has ever filmed, it includes a hammock milking session, camping in a tent and much more. The second short features Shawn Lane and Brenden Black finding themselves in a photo session...totally turned on. The scene is purely magical as the 18-year-old Brenden drools over Shawn's massive endowment, trying to pull himself together and remain professional. It's hard. The third short, starring Ryan di Noor from Like a Moth to a Flame, is about a gay guy, who in a very cunning way, with the help of his girl buddy, manages to lure Jonathan Taylor into a hysterical web of deceit. In the fourth short, Jordan River has the daunting task of researching the campus heteros and finding who of them has had sex with another man...term papers can be hell. He finds Jake Red a very sexy redhead and as he asks him intimate questions his fantasies are running wild. In the fifth short Brenden and Shawn reunite a few months later, this time Shawn that straight enigmatic neighbor is willing to do so much more, he certainly expanded his horizons. The sixth and final short is the story of a gay snob who is just too good for about anything, well at least that is the facade he is trying to promote. He never acts as the submissive one, does not do any drugs, and hates poor people. His friends are on a mission to expose the real him to the world in a very tricky and funny and sexy way. Anyone who remembers "Soir de Paris" from SBGB 2 this one here is it's distant cousin. Filmed in one of Chicago's fanciest gym telling a story that is both hysterical and poignant.

Tristan Taormino's Chemistry, Vol 1 Review

Tristan Taormino's Chemistry, Vol 1
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
In filmaker/icon/sexpert Tristan Taormino's first installment of her "Chemistry" series, she cleverly uses the sort ofreal world/big brother approach to allow for raw human emotion and genuine biological urges to come out on screen.
7 extremely attractive porn stars spend 36 hours together in the same house, and the result is the OPPOSITE of the usual over-directed, contrived adult films, where the positions are being called out from off-camera. The beauty is that this type of Reality Porn is the hot kind of "organic" sex that is only caught on film when the performers are able to do things their own way, on their terms. Yes, there are inside interviews with the actors, and confessionals, both providing behind-the-scenes insights into the culture of their industry. Honestly speaking, though, I'd be lying if I didn't confess to fast-forwarding a little, because the sex scenes were smokin', and I wanted to see what they were going to come up with next.
Using the analogy of a world-acclaimed chef and a porn star, they both are the best in their respective fields. When the chef goes home, he uses the talents from his work to create delicious, creative meals at home, from his own mental menu. In the same way, when not being micro-managed by a director, porn stars have the gifts to create the most gourmet sex scenes, when they are having the sex that they would have for themselves in real life. As a woman, I think I can tell when another woman is really getting off, and when they are faking it for the benefit of the viewing audience. In this video, there was absolutely no doubt in my mind that these beautiful women are having having authentic orgasms (can I hear an amen?!?!). You can tell all of the performers are genuinely turned on, not just acting, and moaning on cue. "Chemistry" is the next best thing to being able to actually see into the bedroom windows of some of the hottest porn stars, and become privy what they really do behind closed doors.

Penny Flame's Expert Guide to Rough Sex Review

Penny Flame's Expert Guide to Rough Sex
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Penny Flame's Expert Guide to Rough Sex is a very solid, and incredibly hot, film. In her lesson, Penny stresses the importance of consent, trust, communication, safewords, hydration, etc., then goes over hair-pulling techniques, slapping techniques, and which body parts can and can't withstand hitting. Some viewers experienced in these activities may find little new information in this section, but I found all of it very helpful. There is also an extremely informative choking demonstration in the bonus scenes section.
So, educational? Definitely. But is it hot? Oh my god -- unequivocally, yes.
The first scene stars Penny and Derrick Pierce. I'm speechless about this scene. Nothing I say here could explain just how enjoyable and sexy it is. Penny and Derrick's chemistry is front and center, and it never falters. Derrick's style of domination is perfect, and it is clear throughout the scene that every cell in Penny's body is saying yes -- she is smiling, giggling, surrendering. The scene is laced with choking, slapping, hair-pulling, and orgasm control, but the most delicious element is the dirty talk.
Scene two is a femdom scene between Aiden Starr and Devin. This was my first time seeing a true femdom scene, and it was such a treat. Aiden is stunning and incredibly fluent in domination that is both believable and unique (one of my favorite lines of hers during this scene, spoken like a true queen: "I am going to recline while you do the work."). Throughout the scene, Aiden calls Devin everything from a "streetwalker" to a "service dog." Devin is quickly trained to respond to her with "yes, ma'am." It's not long because he's begging for her permission, then crying out with ecstasy when he finally gets what he wants.
My least favorite scene was the last one, between Lexi Belle and Mark Davis. Lexi is adorable as always, but the communication between Lexi and Mark is sparse compared to the other scenes. Mark dominates Lexi, punishing her with choking, and with swift slaps. Mark is intent on pushing Lexi's limits. He asks her to put her arms behind her back, and that his where they stay for most of the scene.
The first two scenes are especially top-notch, showing performers with serious chemistry and visible enjoyment, while Lexi and Mark's scene should satisfy those enticed by more extreme submission. Get this DVD if you are at all interested in rough sex or watching rough sex; it is superb.

Monamour Review

Monamour
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Tinto Brass' latest US release, 'Monamour', is actually from 2005 (why does it take so long for us to get our sexploitation kicks stateside?), starring Anna Jimskaia, and is a sexual homage to the female form, like many of his films, this time even more so, and Anna is an even greater exhibitionist than any of his other actresses, bless her heart.
The story concerns itself with a newly married couple, Marta and Dario, whose love life seems to have stagnated since they got married only six months ago. Marta chronicles the sordid details in her diary, and Dario is too busy with his work to notice her sexual drifting. While away at a publisher's convention in the beautiful city of Mantua with her husband, Marta meets a Frenchman while looking at ancient frescos in a museum, and he pursues her aggressively and sexually right there. Soon, her adultery, born out of neglect, boredom and frustration, is in full swing, and she's encouraged by a female friend of hers who's also at the convention with her younger lover.
The two women attend a day spa and trade tales of their escapades while being pampered by two Eurovixens employed at the spa, conjuring up all kinds of fantasies for us to ponder over as the women are oiled-up and erotically massaged as though being devoured by their masseuses. Marta is now having sexual dreams and fantasies in addition to her carnal activities, engaging in a variety of increasingly perverse pleasures with Leon, the French lover, and naturally, hubbie Dario finds the diary she explicitly details her affairs in. Now things go from steaming hot to boiling over...it's one of those times when being a perv is a truly wonderful thing.
These are women, not girls, and they flaunt their sexuality proudly, libidinous creatures who have not just been around the block a few times, but have frequented the sewers as well. They are lewd, sometimes vulgar, their appetites voracious and lusts almost limitless. Looking slutty, talking dirty, behaving salaciously - what's not to love? Hang on a second, I'm getting weepy... OK, I'm back.
There's nary a 30 second frame within the film when we don't have our heads thrust into the breasts, asses, legs, back or nether regions of some delectable Eurovixen's form - this is a voyeur's pastry buffet table, a Lazy Susan of rotating sexual smorgasbords that's guaranteed to delight the demented appetites of undying degenerates everywhere. Tinto Brass knows how to let the camera linger over a woman's form the way Salvador Dali knew surrealism, the way Einstein knew equations, the way Monet knew waterlillies. Uncensored, unflinching, uncut, unyielding, this flick is mandatory viewing for all men who appreciate the female anatomy more than a night of ESPN. Do your self a flavor and savor the juices of 'MonAmour'.
